Location: Dallas, Texas

Job Type: Full-Time, Hybrid

Target Salary Range: $135,000-160,000

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Database Administrator (DBA) to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience supporting database operations across platforms such as Oracle, Exadata, and SQL Server. This role involves performance tuning, query optimization, code deployments, access control, and supporting database re-platforming and data retention strategies.

This position also requires collaboration with data architects, analysts, and application teams to ensure the health, efficiency, and scalability of enterprise-level database environments. Strong technical troubleshooting skills and the ability to communicate complex findings to a wide range of stakeholders are key.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and optimize SQL queries and database performance (e.g., memory usage, session activity, backups, long-running queries, and space allocation).
  • Create and manage database objects including schemas, tables (with partitioning), views, functions, stored procedures, and roles.
  • Participate in the scheduling and automation of database processes.
  • Support database re-platforming efforts and contribute to accurate sizing and capacity planning.
  • Write scripts for performance monitoring and automation of administrative tasks.
  • Maintain database documentation including runbooks and standard operating procedures.
  • Implement and manage centralized database operations in multitenant container environments (CDB/PDB).
  • Enforce security and resource policies within shared database infrastructures.
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to meet performance and availability requirements.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience as a physical DBA in environments such as Oracle, SQL Server, Exadata, Postgres, or Microsoft Access.
  • Proficient in database data movement, processing, and backup strategies.
  • Familiarity with tools such as SQL Server Management Studio, DBeaver, TOAD, or Oracle SQL Developer.
  • Understanding of Agile workflows; JIRA experience is a plus.
  • Experience with Hybrid Columnar Compression (HCC), Advanced Compression, and Multitenant architecture is desirable.
  • Experience with Hadoop, MongoDB, MDM methodologies, or cloud-based platforms is a plus.
  • Strong scripting skills for automation (e.g., Shell, PowerShell, or SQL scripting).

Team Culture:

You’ll be joining a fast-paced, results-driven team that values collaboration, innovation, and high-quality outcomes. Our environment is energetic and goal-oriented, with an emphasis on personal accountability and continuous improvement. Ideal candidates will thrive in a space where effort and dedication are directly tied to success.
