Role Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced SAP SCM Functional Consultant with a strong technical background to work directly at our client’s site. You will be embedded within the Client IT Team, serving as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for SCM modules during a critical S/4HANA migration and subsequent production support phase. This role demands a professional who can navigate complex Retail business processes while possessing the ABAP technical depth to troubleshoot and optimize the system alongside client developers.
Key Responsibilities
1. Onsite Client Collaboration
- Work as a seamless extension of the Client IT Team, participating in daily stand-ups, architectural reviews, and strategic planning sessions.
- Act as the "Functional-Technical Bridge," translating complex business needs into actionable technical requirements for the development team.
- Provide immediate, face-to-face support to client stakeholders during critical migration windows and go-live phases.
2. Retail SCM & S/4HANA Migration
- Support the end-to-end Retail Supply Chain, including Merchandise Management, Site Master, Assortments, and Replenishment.
- Lead production support efforts for MM, SD, and EWM, ensuring high system availability in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Guide the client through S/4HANA migration challenges, including data mapping, business process re-engineering, and the adoption of the New GL/Simplified Data Model.
3. Technical Troubleshooting (ABAP/Integration)
- Conduct ABAP debugging to identify issues in custom retail enhancements and standard SAP code.
- Collaborate with the Client IT team to manage complex integrations via IDocs, BAPIs, and OData services.
- Review custom code for performance optimization within the HANA database (Code-to-Data paradigm).
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Industry Experience: 12+ years in SAP, with a minimum of 3-5 years in the Retail sector (IS-Retail).
- S/4HANA Expertise: Proven experience in at least one S/4HANA migration or Greenfield implementation.
- Functional Depth: Expert-level knowledge of SCM modules (Procurement, Inventory Management, Logistics Execution).
- Technical Literacy: * Advanced ability to read and debug ABAP code.
- Understanding of S/4HANA technical architecture and Fiori App troubleshooting.
- Consulting Soft Skills: * Professional presence suitable for onsite client-facing interactions.
- Strong ability to influence and lead discussions with Client IT Directors and Managers.
- Experience working in a Production Support (SLA-driven) environment.
Preferred Attributes
- Local or willing to relocate to the onsite location for the duration of the project.
- Previous experience in "Hypercare" support for a large Retailer.
- SAP S/4HANA Certification.
