Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role based in New York, NY for a Studio Manager at The Shade.
The Studio Manager is responsible for leading a fast-paced, high-volume environment with a strong focus on sales, team performance, and operational excellence. This role goes beyond day-to-day management, it is about driving revenue, maximizing team productivity, and ensuring every client interaction reflects The Shade standard.
You will oversee all studio operations, including scheduling, staff management, inventory, and client experience, while holding the team accountable to sales goals across services and retail. The ideal candidate thrives in a performance-driven environment, leads from the front, and understands how to turn traffic into revenue.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and drive studio sales performance across services and retail
- Lead, coach, and manage a team of nail technicians and front of house staff
- Oversee scheduling to maximize productivity, efficiency, and revenue per hour
- Maintain a high-energy, fast-paced environment with a strong sense of urgency
- Ensure an elevated, consistent client experience aligned with The Shade brand
- Monitor KPIs, set targets, and hold the team accountable to results
- Manage inventory, ordering, and product merchandising
- Train staff on sales techniques, client experience, and service standards
- Maintain studio cleanliness, organization, and operational flow
Qualifications
- Strong sales background with a proven ability to drive revenue and hit targets
- Leadership experience managing high-performing teams in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in beauty, luxury retail, or hospitality preferred
- Strong understanding of scheduling, staffing, and operational efficiency
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Comfortable working with booking systems and POS platforms
- Passion for luxury, aesthetics, and brand experience
