⚡ Forward Deployed Engineer

We’re partnered with a fast-growing, YC-backed AI fintech startup founded by alumni from MIT, Harvard, and Georgia Tech, including founders with a prior successful exit. The company is already revenue-generating and rapidly scaling its enterprise platform across Fortune 1000 customers.
Their product is transforming accounts receivable operations using AI to automate invoicing, cash application, and collections—helping large organizations accelerate payments, reduce manual workflows, and eliminate revenue leakage.
They’re now looking to hire a Forward Deployed Engineer to work closely with the CTO at the intersection of engineering, product, and enterprise customers, deploying AI solutions directly into complex real-world environments.
This is a highly hands-on role for someone who enjoys ownership, customer interaction, and solving ambiguous technical challenges while shipping impactful solutions quickly.
What You’ll Do
- Work directly with the CTO to deploy, customize, and scale AI-driven solutions for enterprise customers
- Act as a technical point of contact and client-facing partner, owning implementations from discovery through production rollout
- Handle ad-hoc technical challenges including debugging, integrations, data workflows, and custom configurations
- Translate customer requirements into scalable, maintainable technical solutions while maintaining product integrity
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and customer success teams to influence the product roadmap and platform improvements
- Support integrations with enterprise systems such as ERPs, accounting platforms, and internal financial tools
- Occasional on-site travel with customers (~10%, optional for more)
What They’re Looking For
- Strong software engineering background with experience building or deploying production systems
- Comfortable working directly with customers while remaining deeply technical
- Thrives in fast-paced, ambiguous startup environments and enjoys wearing multiple hats
- Experience working with APIs, integrations, and modern backend systems
- Strong problem-solving ability and the confidence to troubleshoot complex technical issues
- Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Nice to Have
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
- Experience in enterprise SaaS, fintech, or AI-driven platforms
- Prior experience in forward deployed engineering, solutions engineering, or technical consulting
- Familiarity with financial workflows such as billing, invoicing, or accounting systems
