- Salary: $150-190k is ideal base salary range
- Bonus: 15%
SCHEDULE
- Hours: 8:00am – 5:00pm, additional hours as needed
POSITION OVERVIEW – Director Continuous Improvement This role will oversee Operational Excellence (OPEX) initiatives and drive continuous improvement efforts across the organization. The leader will be responsible for evaluating, improving, and optimizing business processes from a Continuous Improvement standpoint.The Director of Operational Excellence is responsible for establishing and leading the enterprise-wide continuous improvement strategy across the operations and business processes. This role provides strategic oversight of process optimization, standardization, automation, and performance enhancement initiatives to drive operational excellence and financial effectiveness.The Continuous Improvement Director is responsible for the identification and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives focused on the finance and accounting functions within the distribution companies. The role will collaborate cross functionally to analyze processes, technology, and data to identify and facilitate implementation of possible improvements.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Fully onsite position
- Minimal travel (approximately 10%), as most site-level initiatives are handled by OPEX Engineers

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Establish and lead the enterprise-wide continuous improvement strategy, aligning initiatives with organizational goals, performance targets, and operational excellence standards
- Develop and execute a multi-year CI roadmap focused on process optimization, standardization, automation, and scalability across all distribution subsidiaries
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement by embedding Toyota Production System, Lean, Six Sigma, and data-driven methodologies throughout the organization
- Identify systemic inefficiencies, process risks, and control gaps; sponsor cross-functional initiatives to deliver sustainable, measurable improvements
- Drive process standardization to enhance consistency, compliance, and performance
- Define and monitor KPIs and success metrics to evaluate initiative impact, ensuring continuous refinement and long-term value realization
- Lead cross-functional forums to evaluate, approve, and track continuous improvement initiatives
- Serve as a strategic advisor to senior leadership on operational effectiveness, risk mitigation, cost optimization, and scalability opportunities
- Oversee change management strategies to ensure successful adoption of new processes, systems, and controls
- Build, mentor, and develop high-performing CI teams, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous learning
- Promote & Lead Operational Excellence initiatives such as: Kaizens, Jishuken & and SEE Workshops
- Promote best-in-class industry practices through benchmarking, research, and organizational knowledge sharing
- Lead additional enterprise transformation initiatives as assigned
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Analyze and review financial accounting work processes and procedures for improvements
- Develop process enhancement strategies and procedures
- Investigate issues in the current process and assists in identification of solutions
- Standardize agreed upon processes across all distribution subsidiaries
- Monitor the performance of any changes and make modifications if appropriate
- Partner with IT to initiate, prioritize and drive the systematic solutions the fulfill business needs
- Collaborate with all other stakeholders on enhanced processes
- Communicate ideas for input and approval as well as ongoing project status to stakeholders
- Brainstorm with all functional areas for best solutions
- Understand best industry standards and practices
- Train staff on changes being implemented
- Provide documentation of revised processes and procedures
- Liaise between the business and the third-party consultants
- Maintain and enhance internal controls and procedures
- Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 7–10 years of progressive experience in Operational Excellence, Operations Leadership, or Continuous Improvement within complex operating environments
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, or Business (MBA or advanced degree preferred)
- Formal training and certification in Toyota Production System, Lean, Six Sigma, or Operational Excellence methodologies (Black Belt or equivalent strongly preferred)
- Demonstrated success leading enterprise-wide operational excellence transformations, not isolated improvement projects
- Proven ability to deliver sustained improvements in cost, productivity, quality, service, and working capital
- Deep understanding of end-to-end operational value streams, including manufacturing, supply chain, and service operations
- Strong business and financial acumen, with the ability to translate operational performance into P&L impact
- Experience establishing and running daily management systems, operating cadence, and performance governance
- Ability to influence senior leaders and frontline teams to drive standardization, accountability, and execution
- Track record of embedding continuous improvement into operating culture, leadership behaviors, and management routines
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present clearly and confidently to executive leadership
- Hands-on, execution-focused leader who balances strategic direction with operational rigor and follow-through
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Lean Six Sigma (6S) certification
- Toyota Production System (TPS) experience
- Engineering or Quality background
- Experience in automotive, aerospace, or heavy manufacturing environments
- SAP experience is a plus
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field
