Job DescriptionWe are looking for a skilled PC Technician to join our team on a contract basis in Austin, Texas. In this role, you will provide technical support by installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting computer systems, hardware, and software within a Windows Microsoft environment. This position is ideal for someone who excels in problem-solving and delivering exceptional customer service while ensuring seamless system performance.
Responsibilities:
• Install, configure, and repair Windows-based desktops, laptops, and peripherals such as printers and scanners.
• Perform routine updates and maintenance for Windows operating systems, ensuring compatibility with enterprise applications.
• Diagnose and resolve basic network connectivity issues, including Wi-Fi and system connections.
• Conduct hardware upgrades, software patches, and antivirus management to maintain system integrity.
• Maintain accurate documentation of inventory, support tickets, and troubleshooting processes.
• Adhere to organizational security policies by managing user accounts and implementing compliance measures.
• Collaborate with IT team members to escalate complex issues and support the implementation of IT projects.
• Provide technical assistance to users, ensuring timely resolution of system-related problems.
• Replace or repair computer components such as hard drives, power supplies, and other hardware.
• Optimize system performance by identifying and addressing inefficiencies.• High school diploma or equivalent; an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.
• At least 1-3 years of experience in PC support or a similar role within a Windows Microsoft environment.
• Proficiency in Windows operating systems, including Windows 10 and Windows 11.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft 365 administration.
• Basic knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, and network troubleshooting.
• Experience in hardware repair and replacement, including components such as hard drives and power supplies.
• Certifications such as CompTIA A+ or Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate are preferred.
• Strong customer service skills and ability to communicate technical information effectively.
