Client Overview:
Our client is a leading consumer packaged goods (CPG) manufacturer dedicated to delivering high-quality and safe food products. They are looking to add a Senior Quality Assurance Specialist (Food) to their team.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$33/hr - $36/hr - Commensurate with experience
Position Overview:
The Senior Quality Assurance Specialist (Food) will oversee supplier quality and food safety processes for raw and packaging materials at the manufacturing site.
Responsibilities of the Senior Quality Assurance Specialist (Food):
- Manage incoming materials quality management process at the site.
- Review, approve, and maintain quality documentation.
- Support site audits and other regulatory inspections.
- Engage with suppliers to ensure ingredient and packaging documentation remains current.
- Manage the quality and food safety aspects of the supplier onboarding process in collaboration with Supplier Quality.
- Support the QA Manager in raw and packaging material disposition and risk assessments.
- Monitor, track, and document supplier non-conformance events.
- Perform supplier quality and food safety audits and assist with annual supplier risk assessments.
- Review and approve ingredient specifications, incoming materials, and finished product positive release.
Required Experience/Skills of the Senior Quality Assurance Specialist (Food):
- Minimum 3 years of experience in food manufacturing.
- Familiarity with quality and food safety processes.
- Proven ability to resolve complex problems effectively.
- Strong relationship-building and influencing skills.
Preferred Experience/Skills of the Senior Quality Assurance Specialist (Food):
- Hands-on quality experience in the food and beverage industry.
- Familiar with quality and food safety processes.
- Possesses a willingness to learn and grow.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences, Food Science, Food Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline required.
