The Role
The Production Systems & Yield Analysis Intern will support PopUp Bagels’ day-to-day operations in project-based work by tracking product movement throughout the production process and analyzing the data to determine what impacts the overall efficiency and quality. The role will consist of partnering with operational staff to identify issues, suggest potential improvements and solutions to boost and streamline processes and workflow. The candidate will also create and share reports and visuals to showcase results and findings in a clear manner to support ongoing operational improvements.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Interpret and analyze production yield data, effectively noting any trends, outliers, and issues impacting production performance.
- Collaborate with operational and engineering teams to analyze yields and suggest corrective actions accordingly.
- Prepare and present clear reports and presentations for findings and recommendations regarding production results, highlighting key indicators, and needed adjustments.
- Monitor and design analytic dashboards (i.e. Python, Tableau, SQL, Power BI, etc.) to examine real-time yields and metrics for operational teams.
- Support analyzing yield data for new product launches and identifying risks, as well as simulation of production scenarios, capacity constraints, or process-change impacts.
General Internship Program Expectations
- Attend intern onboarding sessions, weekly departmental check-ins, and end-of-program presentations.
- Demonstrate ownership, curiosity, and professionalism while managing deadlines and deliverables.
- Communicate progress and ask questions proactively to ensure alignment and learning.
Required Education and Experience:
- Applicants who have completed academic or project experience in Supply Chain Analytics, Operations Research, or related fields are encouraged to apply.
- Previous internships, campus involvement, portfolio work or project-based experience highly preferred.
- Experience utilizing analytic dashboard software such as Power BI, Python, etc. for production.

- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work and communicate effectively with partners
- Adaptability: Comfortable with shifting priorities, last-minute updates, and a dynamic, high-growth environment.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer to perform assigned tasks
- Ability to communicate effectively via email, video conferencing, and in-person meetings (as applicable).
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
