Job Description

Metric are currently partnered with a world leading semiconductor organization seeking to hire a Senior Product Teardown Engineer who will be the company’s primary lens on cutting edge technologies spanning multiple market verticals.


In this role you will be responsible for reverse engineering the latest technology to expose the architecture, performance characteristics, and design decisions which will be used to directly inform internal product strategy and development efforts.


Responsibilities

  • Dissect and reverse engineer the latest electronic devices to identify sub-system functions, IC roles, and overall system architecture.
  • Collect electrical measurement data to characterise key device behaviours and performance attributes.
  • Deliver comprehensive assessments of electronic, electro-mechanical, and mechanical sub-systems, including system connectivity diagrams and circuit schematics.
  • Assess product architectures and provide well-reasoned analysis of competitor design choices.
  • Produce clear, comprehensive written reports and presentations to influence internal product design decisions


Requirements

  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in a hands-on Electrical Engineering role (Design/Testing/Applications Engineering/Product Teardown)
  • Experience at a Semiconductor, Automotive or Consumer Electronics organization would be preferred
  • Strong laboratory skills including experience with system-level & device-level functional testing.
  • Broad technical experience across a wide range of applications/technologies (haptics, MEMS, motor drives, RF etc.)
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to enable the writing & presentation of report/findings to internal senior stakeholders
