POSITION SUMMARY:
This position will act as the assistant to the General Manager in managing the hotel’s operations, maintaining established revenue, cost, quality, safety, and security. Directly responsible for all Rooms Division to include Front Desk, Housekeeping, Maintenance and Security
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversees day-to-day hotel operations as delegated by the General Manager.
- Generates through proper supervision of assigned departments projected revenue levels as well as guest satisfaction.
- Participates in the development of short term and long term financial and operational plans for the hotel.
- Ensures that guest satisfaction is consistently obtained.
- Ensures the efficient and effective operation of the Front Desk, Housekeeping,
- Maintenance, and Security Departments.
- Maintains company standards in all departments.
- Ensures security and safety for the hotel’s assets.
- Meets assigned departmental budgets and monitors financial statements.
- Establishes and maintains an appropriate level of community involvement.
- Remains current on business trends and local activities.
- Hires, fires and performs performance evaluations, as well as training and development of team members under supervision.
- Ensures proper handling of guest complaints.
- Assists in the development of new programs which result in an increased level of guest satisfaction and operational excellence.
- Maintains compliance with all local, state and federal laws and regulations.
- Hires appropriate management personnel.
- Authorizes departmental personnel changes.
- Develops and coaches’ management staff.
- Ensures Hotel policies and procedures are adhered to.
- Approves department schedules per budget and service level needs.
- Acts as Manager on Duty as required by Management staffing levels.
- Provides financial information to Hotel Managers to ensure understanding and compliance.
- Supports other departments to ensure compliance with policies and procedures established by the hotel.
- Promotes an open-door policy among all team members.
- Occasional local travel is expected with this position.
- All other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS / ABILITIES:
- Ability to read, interpret and accurately forecast business service levels.
- Must be able to communicate effectively in a positive/upbeat fashion utilizing English; both orally and written.
- Must exhibit positive interpersonal skills with focused attention to team member and guest needs and varied business contacts.
- Must be able to frequently move freely about the office, maintain manual dexterity to access computer via keyboard and operate office equipment, such as telephones, copiers, fax machine, computer systems etc.
- Must be able to interpret business and statistical reports.
- Must be able to communicate with the public, associates and hotel management in a professional manner daily.
- Must be able to meet deadlines as required, meet multiple deadlines as business demands.
- Need to work a variety of hours, varied tasks under varied conditions.
- This position requires travel. Travel may be outside the local area and overnight.
- Must maintain a good working relationship with other departments, team members and guests.
- Must be able to interface with public daily.
- Perform all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with established company policies and procedures including safety procedures and local, state and
- federal laws and regulations.
- Must be able to administrate, exemplify and support The Hotel Group culture, values, policies and procedures.
- Ability to make critical decisions.
- Time management and negotiation skills.
- Protection from weather but not necessarily changes in temperature.
- Must be able to frequently move freely about the hotel, including up and down stairs during shift and remain standing for extended periods.
- Requires handling objects or material using body members, hand tools and or special devices to work, move, or carry objects or materials.
- Basic mathematical skills and considerable skill in the use of a calculator to prepare moderately complex mathematical calculations without error.
- Ability to listen effectively and to speak English clearly to communicate with customers and team members and prepare written complex reports.
- Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse anger, collect accurate information and resolve conflicts.
- Must have coordinating skills as pertains to determining time, place and sequence of operations or action.
- Ability to analyze information and make effective judgments.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 2+ years hotel management experience.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- OSHA laws require the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when performing work duties that have the potential of risk to your health or safety.
- Normal routine involves no exposure to blood, body fluid or tissue, but exposure or potential for exposure may occur.
- All team members must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance (specific standards available).
