Responsibilities:

Performs maintenance on Tow Trucks, semi tractors, trailers and able to complete DOT inspections.

Provide bumper-to-bumper preventive maintenance service and/or repair to tow trucks, tractors and trailers as established by company standards

Performs diagnostic tests on diesel engines and interpreting the results for resolution.

Repairs or replaces vehicle transmissions, brakes, clutches, outside engine components and other associated parts.

Orders parts, communicates status and annotates corrective actions

Ensures a safe work environment

Ability to handle various tools (e.g. pliers) and heavy equipment (e.g. lift)

Willingness to observe all safety precautions for protections against accidents, dangerous fluids, chemicals etc.

Perform FAI/CVI (Annual) (First Article Inspection - Commercial Vehicle Inspection) inspections on all fleet vehicles including tractors, trailers, converter dollies, light-duty vehicles, and any other company-owned equipment under the guidance of fleet technician II & III or fleet supervisor or manager in accordance with all federal, state and local legal and regulatory agencies. (Includes all state-required inspections and frequencies).

Address all driver vehicle inspection report write-ups timely, efficiently, and correctly

Qualifications:

Possess a valid US Class A driver's license preferred but not required

Qualified to perform DOT inspections and follow company preventative maintenance procedures.

At least 2 years of experience with emissions, aftertreatment systems, electrical, air conditioning, powertrain, hydraulics and suspension systems.

Experience with PTO's

Experience with Paccar, Cummins, Caterpillar and other Diessel engines.

Welding and metal fabricating experience a plus

Certified on brakes and air conditioning systems

Experience with tow trucks, tractor, and trailers electrical and hydraulic systems a plus

Specific experience with Cummins Insite, aftertreatment systems, and diesel scan tools a BIG PLUS

Job Type: Full-time, SECOND SHIFT

Pay: Based on experience with the opportunity to earn up to $90,000 per year.
