POSITION SUMMARY
As a Project Engineer focused on drafting, you will play a key role in transforming engineering concepts into precise technical drawings and plans. This position involves working closely with licensed engineers to produce accurate CAD drawings for design, permitting, and construction purposes. You will be responsible for creating and updating detailed layouts, sections, and schematics that meet project specifications and industry standards. This role is ideal for recent engineering graduates who are working toward professional licensure and want to gain hands-on experience in technical drafting and engineering design processes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings, plans, and schematics using CAD software (AutoCAD and/or Revit).
- Assist in the development of design layouts, technical specifications, and construction documents.
- Collaborate with engineers and project managers to ensure drawings meet project requirements, codes, and standards.
- Review and revise drawings based on feedback from engineers and architectural teams.
- Maintain organized documentation and version control for all drafted materials.
- Support architectural teams with as-built drawings and updates during project execution.
- Participate in design meetings and contribute to problem-solving discussions.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors degree in engineering or a related field
- 2+ years of work experience in related field
- Engineering in Training (EIT) certification preferred
- Perform basic load and other engineering calculations for system design and compliance with codes and standards
- Proficiency in producing designs relevant to engineering using platforms such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar tools
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
