Primary Duty
Responsible for purchasing logs from suppliers that purchase standing timber from landowners. The result is to design and maintain a process/strategy to provide a stable and predictable supply of high-quality raw materials to region manufacturing operations.
Essential Functions
- Assists in the development of procurement planning strategies. Requires knowledge of sourcing area and land/resource ownership.
- Assessing and determining harvest volume, tree selection, harvest regulations, supply chain logistics and overall forest management.
- Responsible for contract administration and management of log deliveries. Key knowledge areas include stumpage pricing, silvicultural practices, logging methods, forest sustainability and contract terms.
- Communicates directly with landowners to develop plans to complete procurement and harvest operations. Acts as counsel to determine harvest volume, tree selection, harvest regulations and overall forest management.
- Responsible for staying abreast of key factors in log cost and supply chain dynamics.
- Provides a safe work environment for all who work on or use fee, public or private land where Boise Cascade is operating. Provides Safety training to all employees, agents and contractors engaged in BC Operations.

Minimum Education/Experience/Physical Functions
College degree, or equivalent work experience in related job function. Degree in forestry management or related field with timber acquisition experience preferred. Minimum three (3) years of experience in forestry related activities such as timber procurement or logging production coordination. Must understand responsibilities for environmental compliance and management. Highly motivated, self-directed and team oriented.
