Job DescriptionSalary: $119,000 Annually

JLGOV LLC Network Engineer (Onsite | Washington, DC)
Support a Department of Justice Civil Rights Division mission and operate in a high-impact, enterprise-scale environment (approx. 175 servers / 3 sites / 70 switches) where your work directly enables secure, reliable litigation support systems. Minimum qualifications

  • 5-6 years directly applicable experience (design through maintenance)
  • Strong written/oral communication skills
  • Bachelors degree preferred (CS/IT/IM)
  • U.S. Citizen able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust

Work location & schedule (no exceptions)

  • Onsite only (no telework): 150 M Street NE, Washington, DC 20002
  • 40 hrs/week, 8-hour day between 8:00 AM 4:30 PM local time

Compensation (W2 only)

  • $119,000 base + benefits (Eligibility after 3 months)
  • $2,000 retention bonus after 90 days (active employment/retention)

Clearance/suitability (Public Trust) must be able to passwithout delay

Public Trust processing begins immediately upon selection. During prescreening, candidates are evaluated against SF85P-related criteria. If you are not a holder of a Public Trust clearance, this process may take up to 30 days, depending on your background and ability to have a clean record.

Role summary (56 years experience)

You will serve in a high-level engineering role designing and implementing end-to-end network/system solutions, establishing security controls, producing configuration documentation, and coordinating with government stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

  • Analyze complex user/system needs and recommend overall hardware/software/telecom solutions.
  • Procure, install, integrate, test, troubleshoot; develop/deliver user training; produce documentation/procedures.
  • Enforce security measures (e.g., firewalls, disaster recovery) and establish operating/maintenance protocols.
  • Coordinate with DOJ stakeholders and report progress with system documentation.

Required technical experience

Hands-on expertise with:

  • Network patch + fiber cabling (SC/LC), Cat5e/Cat6/Cat6a
  • Multi-site campus environments; multi-vendor operations
  • Cisco, Extreme, Aruba OS / Aruba Wireless, Aruba Airwave
  • Monitoring/troubleshooting tools: Wireshark, PuTTY, SolarWinds (NTA/NPM/NCM/Dameware)
  • TIC access, VOIP infrastructure, Zscaler, video teleconferencing support, VMware/virtual servers/VPN troubleshooting
