Position Summary

Little General is seeking an experienced, hands-on Store Manager to oversee daily operations at one of our Columbia, MO locations. This role is responsible for overall store performance, team leadership, customer experience, foodservice execution, and compliance.

This position is ideal for a leader who enjoys being on the floor, coaching teams, solving problems in real time, and taking full ownership of store operations.

Key Responsibilities

Store Operations

  • Manage daily operations across retail, fuel, and foodservice
  • Ensure the store is clean, organized, fully stocked, and operating efficiently
  • Monitor sales, labor usage, inventory levels, shrinkage, and waste
  • Adjust staffing and ordering based on traffic patterns and sales trends
  • Ensure equipment and facilities are properly maintained

Leadership & Team Management

  • Recruit, hire, train, schedule, and develop store team members
  • Set clear expectations and hold team members accountable
  • Coach employees and conduct performance conversations and corrective action
  • Ensure proper staffing coverage for all shifts
  • Develop Assistant Managers and Kitchen Managers

Customer Experience

  • Maintain high standards of customer service across all shifts
  • Address customer concerns promptly and professionally
  • Ensure consistent service speed, friendliness, and store presentation

Foodservice Oversight

  • Partner with the Kitchen Manager to ensure food quality and safety
  • Monitor food costs, waste, and health compliance
  • Ensure foodservice meets company and regulatory standards

Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and safety procedures
  • Maintain required documentation and reports
  • Promote a safe and professional work environment

Performs all other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of management experience in convenience stores, retail, grocery, or foodservice
  • Proven ability to lead teams and manage operations
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays
