Job DescriptionWe are looking for a knowledgeable and skilled Attorney specializing in employee benefit compliance to join our team in Washington, District of Columbia. Responsibilities:
• Provide comprehensive legal counsel on issues related to employee benefit plans, including compliance with ERISA and other applicable regulations.
• Draft, review, and analyze complex legal documents to ensure adherence to federal and state requirements.
• Conduct thorough legal research to support client needs and develop innovative solutions to compliance challenges.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to address benefit plan compliance issues effectively.
• Advise clients on regulatory updates and their implications for employee benefit plans.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of laws and regulations impacting employee benefits.
• Prepare and present clear, detailed legal opinions and reports on compliance matters.
• Assist with D.C. Bar membership requirements, including waiving into the Bar if necessary.
• Contribute to the firm's overall success by ensuring high standards of meticulous legal practice.• A minimum of 4 years of experience dealing with employee benefit plan compliance issues under ERISA.
• Proven ability to analyze and address complex legal matters with strong writing and research skills.
• Active membership in the D.C. Bar or eligibility to waive into the Bar.
• A solid academic background demonstrating excellence in legal studies.
• Expertise in employee benefits compliance and related regulations.
• Familiarity with federal and state laws governing employee benefit plans.
• Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with teams and clients.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
