Job DescriptionTechnical Order Specialist
Shift: Monday - Friday 7:30am-4:30pm (1 hr. lunch)Starting Pay Rate: $20-22/hr. depending on experienceTemp-to-Hire Opportunity - full benefits package!
Summary:The Technical Order Specialist is responsible for accurately entering
complex glass orders, managing customer communications, and supporting custom product quoting.
This role requires a strong technical background, attention to detail, and the ability to work
collaboratively with both customers and internal teams.
Previous experience working on a shop floor is highly preferred!
Key Responsibilities:
• Enter customer orders involving dimensions (length, width, thickness) and glass type
• Provide customers with status updates and promise ship dates
• Prepare and enter quotes, including commercial project quotes and custom product calculations
• Educate customers on products and processes, helping them select appropriate options and
sizes
• Verify order accuracy before submission to the manufacturing team
• Resolve customer issues, trace order progress, and prioritize customer satisfaction
• Perform additional duties and projects as assigned by management
Qualifications:
• High level of professionalism, enthusiasm, and customer service orientation
• Effective problem-solving abilities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to manage customer needs via phone, email, and in person
• Technical aptitude and familiarity with measurements and product specifications - good math skills
• Ability to identify and work with different shapes or geometric concepts in a technical context
