We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Estimator to join our growing preconstruction team. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated estimating professional with extensive commercial electrical experience who is ready to take a leadership role in delivering accurate, competitive estimates while helping drive the company's continued growth.
As the Senior Estimator, you will report directly to the Pre-Construction Manager and lead all estimating activities for assigned commercial electrical projects. You'll collaborate with engineers, vendors, subcontractors, project management, and clients to ensure estimates are complete, accurate, and positioned for success.

What You'll Do
- Lead the estimating process for commercial electrical construction projects from concept through bid submission.
- Prepare complete, accurate, and competitive project estimates.
- Review construction documents, specifications, and project requirements.
- Coordinate with engineering teams on design and constructability issues.
- Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate subcontractor and vendor proposals.
- Review supplier pricing and ensure quote accuracy.
- Develop detailed labor, material, equipment, and subcontract budgets.
- Maintain estimating databases and cost tracking information.
- Verify estimate accuracy and ensure pricing reflects current market conditions.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, planning meetings, and project handoffs.
- Provide complete documentation to project management and accounting teams after project award.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and industry partners.
- Support business development and marketing efforts by assisting with client presentations and pursuing new opportunities.
- Mentor and supervise Estimators, Assistant Estimators, Project Administrators, and Project Coordinators.
- Help recruit, develop, and retain top estimating talent.
- Promote a collaborative, safety-focused, and positive work environment.
What We're Looking ForRequired Experience
- 10+ years of estimating experience, with a minimum of:
- 5 years estimating large commercial electrical construction projects
- Strong understanding of commercial electrical systems, construction methods, labor productivity, and material pricing.
- Experience managing multiple estimates simultaneously while meeting strict deadlines.
- Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to analyze drawings, specifications, and project documents in detail.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Management, or another technical field preferred
- Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will also be considered.
