Day Porter
$20–$24/hour | Silver Spring, MD | Full-Time | Travel Required
Are you a hands-on problem solver who takes pride in keeping buildings running smoothly? We’re looking for a reliable and experienced Porter to join our team!
In this role, you’ll perform routine inspections, handle day-to-day repairs, and respond to service requests across all building systems—including electrical, plumbing, lighting, and structural needs. If you enjoy variety in your work, working independently, and jumping in where needed, this role is for you.
What You’ll Do:

Perform visual inspections and preventative maintenance across building systems

Handle light electrical (replace bulbs, ballasts, etc.), plumbing, painting, carpentry, and general repairs

Cleaning duties, as needed

Respond quickly to emergency maintenance situations

Collaborate with the Property Manager and skilled vendors to resolve larger issues

Maintain compliance with safety codes and building regulations

Keep inventory and maintenance records organized and up to date
What You Bring:

2+ years of hands-on building maintenance experience
-
High school diploma or equivalent (technical training a plus)

General handyman skills across plumbing, electrical, carpentry

Ability to lift, bend, and work in various environmental conditions

Strong communication, time management, and problem-solving skills
-
A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel between locations
