Job DescriptionWe are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to support core accounting operations for an entertainment-focused organization in Charlottesville, Virginia. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records across multiple accounting functions while helping ensure timely reporting and strong day-to-day financial control. The ideal candidate brings a hands-on approach, sound judgment, and the ability to manage priorities independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
• Oversee general ledger activity and maintain accurate financial records across daily and monthly accounting operations.
• Process and review payroll-related accounting transactions, including tax postings and related reconciliations.
• Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable activities to support accurate billing, timely payments, and proper recordkeeping.
• Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring supporting documentation is complete and aligned with accounting standards.
• Track fixed asset activity, including additions, disposals, depreciation, and reconciliation of related schedules.
• Perform bank, account, and balance sheet reconciliations to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
• Support month-end close by reviewing financial data, validating account balances, and helping deliver accurate reporting.
• Use accounting systems and productivity tools, including QuickBooks, Word, and Excel, to analyze data and maintain organized records.• 7+ years of accounting experience with strong exposure to full-cycle general ledger responsibilities.
• Demonstrated background in payroll accounting, tax-related entries, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and fixed assets.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Experience preparing journal entries, completing reconciliations, and supporting month-end close activities.
• Solid understanding of account reconciliation, bank reconciliations, and balance sheet analysis.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate issues and recommend practical solutions.
• Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and maintain accuracy with minimal supervision.
