Job Title: Shipping Clerk
Job Description
This role supports a medical device manufacturer that produces hyperbaric oxygen chambers and respiratory devices such as ventilators and oxygen mixers for hospitals. The Shipping Clerk is responsible for accurately picking, counting, packaging, and shipping parts and customer orders, while supporting inventory control, stockroom, and receiving activities. The position requires a strong attention to detail, efficient work habits, and reliable execution of shipping and inventory transactions.
Responsibilities
- Manually pick parts and customer orders with a high degree of count accuracy and efficiency.
- Package and label items according to documented procedures and standard packaging methods.
- Perform cycle counts of inventory items using manual and automated counting methods, and accurately document all inventory counts.
- Assist stockroom and receiving functions as needed to support overall material flow.
- Reconcile low to moderately complex inventory and inventory transaction issues in the system.
- Interface with the planning department and production teams to confirm product readiness for shipping.
- Document shortage items using prescribed methods and ensure appropriate follow-up.
- Prepare and process shipments of RTV (return-to-vendor) items and other non-customer shipment items.
- Perform data entry of inventory transactions via keyboard and/or radio frequency devices with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments and related documentation.
- Look up inventory items and audit history in the inventory system to support issue resolution and tracking.
- Support shipping department housekeeping, including sweeping, organizing locations, and trash pickup to maintain a clean work area.
- Coordinate customer orders and shipping details with Customer Service to ensure timely and accurate delivery.
- Complete other assignments as necessary to meet business needs and support the shipping and inventory functions.
Essential Skills
- At least 1 year of experience as a shipping clerk or in a similar role involving pulling customer orders.
- Hands-on experience with warehouse shipping processes, including picking, packing, and labeling.
- Practical knowledge of shipping and receiving operations in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
- Experience with inventory control activities, including cycle counting and resolving inventory discrepancies.
- Ability to perform accurate inventory counts using manual and automated methods.
- Comfort working with warehouse inventory systems and performing inventory lookups.
- Ability to use basic material handling equipment such as pallet jacks safely and efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in counting, documentation, and data entry.
- Reliable work habits and ability to consistently meet productivity and quality standards.
- Effective communication skills to coordinate with planning, production, and customer service teams.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with SAP or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) or inventory management systems.
- Experience in inventory control and cycle counting in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
- Familiarity with radio frequency (RF) devices for inventory transactions and data entry.
- Previous experience in material handling and warehouse inventory processes.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain orderly work areas and inventory locations.

Work Environment
This is a full-time, onsite role in a medical device manufacturing environment, with a regular schedule of Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. The work takes place in a warehouse and shipping area that supports production of hyperbaric oxygen chambers and respiratory devices. Employees work closely with friendly coworkers in a team-oriented culture and a stable environment where many team members stay for years. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Anaheim, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr.
