Job Description

Join a global leader in mechanical solutions as a Seal Repair Technician, where you’ll be hands-on in disassembling, inspecting, and reassembling high-performance rotating equipment. This role is ideal for someone with mechanical aptitude who thrives in a precision-driven, quality-focused repair environment. You’ll play a key part in extending the life of critical equipment used across industries.

  • Inspect and evaluate returned parts to determine repair needs
  • Clean all components thoroughly according to departmental procedures
  • Reassemble seals once all parts are repaired, replaced, or approved for assembly
  • Perform basic machining tasks using equipment like drill press, bead blaster, grinder, and lapping machine
  • Use precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, optical flats) to verify part specifications
  • Review and confirm that bills of materials, drawings, and replacement parts align with repair requirements
  • Work with Engineering or Sales teams to resolve technical questions as needed
  • Maintain accurate repair records and manage a small inventory of commonly used seal parts
  • Follow work orders, prints, and verbal instructions to complete repairs
  • Support less-experienced team members when needed
  • Set up and troubleshoot lapping machines as part of the repair process
  • Occasionally contact customers regarding repair status or pricing; may assist with basic system checks or purchase orders if outside vendors are involved

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in mechanical assembly positions
  • Experience with mechanical seals is a plus
