Job Description:
CW will be required to travel to project sites approximately once/week.
The Senior Engineer manages work in engineering areas of specialization, with minimal supervision. The Senior Engineer is expected to develop advanced skills and to have the ability to work independently, with guidance limited to unusual or complex projects or issues. Workers in the Senior Engineer position are fully competent in the use of concepts and procedures. The Senior Engineer identifies problems, develops solutions, and takes action to resolve.
Responsibilities:
Be the “district” engineer for 1 of our 4 districts in the Midwest region.
Design Meter sets, services, stations, and review work for non-engineering groups in your district.
All work in your district related to capital asset installation.
Basic/Required Qualifications:
Note: This posting is for one position. Dependent on relevant experience, the level to which a candidate is aligned is outlined below.
Senior Engineer:
Graduation from a four-year college or university with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program. A Master's degree in engineering will be considered in lieu of the B. S. engineering degree.
Minimum of 6 years of natural gas engineering experience or 5 years of engineering experience with state registration as a Professional Engineer (PE). Experience must have been attained at a "Fully Meets" performance level.
A master’s degree in engineering will be considered in lieu of a B.S. Engineering degree
A Civil Engineer with structural knowledge would be a good addition to the team. Other accepted disciplines are mechanical, petroleum, etc.
Desired Qualifications:
Familiar with Federal Code CFR 192
Has any experience with natural gas relevant ANSI, ASTM, and API codes.
Proficient in gas engineering theories and principles relating to the design in the responsibilities section.
Proficient in practices of researching engineering and design issues, evaluating alternatives, making sound recommendations, and preparing and presenting recommendations,
Ability to deal with a variety of individuals from various socio-economic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds,
Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills
Familiar with principles of project management
Experience in the utility industry
Ability to work well with a team
Effective oral and written communication
Working Conditions:
Hybrid – Work will be performed from both remote and onsite locations, (Downtown Cincinnati), after the onboarding period. However, hybrid CW's should live within a reasonable commute to Downtown Cincinnati
Specific Requirements:
Travel to project sites and project kickoffs in your area.
