Job Description
The Maintenance Technician maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs production equipment in a manufacturing environment. This role combines mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic expertise to keep machinery operating safely and efficiently, while supporting continuous production and minimizing downtime.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine and corrective maintenance on production machinery and equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues to identify root causes and implement effective repairs.
- Read and interpret blueprints, electrical diagrams, and technical documentation to guide maintenance and repair activities.
- Operate machinery and equipment as needed to verify proper function after repairs and adjustments.
- Use electrical troubleshooting techniques to identify faults in wiring, components, and control systems.
- Perform welding and basic fabrication tasks when required to repair or modify equipment components.
- Support PLC-related troubleshooting by applying electrical knowledge and understanding of control systems.
- Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used in a clear and accurate manner.
- Work overtime when needed to support production demands and respond to urgent maintenance needs.
- Follow all safety procedures and best practices while working in an active manufacturing environment.
Essential Skills
- Proven mechanical aptitude with experience maintaining and repairing industrial machinery.
- Strong electrical troubleshooting skills, including the ability to work with electrical maintenance tasks and components.
- Hands-on experience with hydraulics and pneumatic systems used in manufacturing equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical diagrams.
- Experience in machine operation within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Demonstrated troubleshooting skills across electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
- Solid work ethic with reliability, accountability, and attention to detail.
- Willingness and ability to work overtime as required by production and maintenance needs.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience performing welding and basic fabrication for equipment repair or modification.
- Familiarity with PLC-based systems and controls sufficient to assist in troubleshooting.
- Broad electrical knowledge applicable to industrial maintenance environments.
- Previous experience in an open-air or non-climate-controlled manufacturing facility.
- Comfort working with a variety of tools, test equipment, and industrial machinery.

Work Environment
This position is based in an open-air manufacturing environment in North Carolina. Conditions can be hot, especially during the summer months, and candidates must be comfortable working in a non-climate-controlled facility. The role involves working around active production equipment, using standard industrial tools, and interacting closely with machinery and systems that include mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components. Appropriate work attire suited to a warm, industrial setting is necessary, along with adherence to all safety guidelines and personal protective equipment requirements.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Marshville, NC.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $30.00/hr.
