Imagine starting your shift with a quick huddle, aligning the team on quality targets and safety priorities. You rotate to the NEXUS Wiring station, review schematics, and spot a potential issue before end-of-line testing—saving a rework and keeping production on pace. Later, a junior mechanic shadows you as you perform Hi-Pot testing and document the process for future training. Your mission

  • Assemble and wire plate products to specification using standard work, rotating through all NEXUS stations (Assembly and Wiring).
  • Execute end-of-line testing and troubleshoot to root cause; perform Hi-Pot (dielectric) tests to validate electrical integrity.
  • Install motors and controls; wire high-voltage 3-phase/480V and low-voltage controls directly from schematics.
  • Operate equipment to maximize throughput and quality; consistently meet or beat shift production goals.
  • Complete basic preventive maintenance and sign off on daily/weekly primary maintenance procedure checklists.
  • Document process steps for knowledge capture; aggressively uphold quality and process standards.
  • Lead a small group of junior assemblers; train and mentor for technical and professional growth.
  • Understand and communicate departmental metrics; update and post them using Excel; ensure accurate paperwork and online entries.
  • Practice and sustain 5S; contribute to safety initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
  • Advance sustainability by minimizing waste, maximizing recycling, and reducing energy/water use; turn original ideas into better processes and systems.
  • Adapt across multiple department workstations; perform additional duties as needed.

What sets you up for success

  • Experience leading small teams and communicating clearly—both in concise, professional writing (memos/emails) and in technically accurate discussions with customers and co-workers.
  • Fluent in reading mechanical/electrical blueprints, technical specs, and electrical/electronic schematics and diagrams.
  • Strong troubleshooting and maintenance background; apply CI tools to support root-cause analysis.
  • Solid math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractional math, fraction–decimal conversion) and skill with tape measures, micrometers, and protractors.
  • Deep knowledge of machine-operation hazards and safety-sensitive areas; consistent, demonstrated safety commitment.
  • High product knowledge across BAC models and parts; able to find instructions/forms on the LAN or other databases.
  • Excel capability to update data and generate clear metrics; comfortable posting and interpreting results for the team.
  • Flexibility to pivot between workstations and collaborate on cross-functional teams.

Leadership and growth

Reporting to the Team Leader, you’ll operate as an influencer and subject matter expert. You’ll mentor junior assemblers, step into leadership roles when needed, and may contribute your expertise to regional project teams that drive plant-wide objectives.

Environment and schedule

  • Physical work: lift up to 50 lbs; stand up to 80% of the shift; frequent walking, reaching, bending, stooping, and sitting.
  • Fine hand manipulation and precise hand–eye coordination for wiring and adjustments.
  • Shifts: any of three; generally 40 hours per week with some weekend overtime.
  • Temperature variability: from plant fluctuations to outdoor ambient conditions.
