Senior Associate / Of Counsel – Trial & Litigation (Eminent Domain Focus)
Los Angeles • San Diego • Oakland | $190,000–$300,000 | Hybrid Work Schedule

Direct Counsel has partnered with a premier California law firm to hire an energetic, committed, and diligent senior associate or of counsel with seven or more years of litigation experience to join their Trial & Litigation Practice Group, with a partial focus on eminent domain matters. This position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative team environment across the firm’s Los Angeles, San Diego, or Oakland offices.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will share the firm’s commitment to delivering high-quality legal services in dynamic areas of the law and will enjoy the strategic aspects of litigation, including crafting complex litigation strategies and presenting nuanced constitutional arguments persuasively.

Key Qualifications

  • 7+ years of litigation experience

  • Active California State Bar license in good standing

  • Excellent academic credentials

  • Superior analytical, research, and writing skills

  • Strong creative thinking and problem-solving abilities

  • Significant experience with law and motion practice in state and federal court, including dispositive motions

  • Proven ability to manage and build cases for trial, including developing evidence, interviewing witnesses, and taking and defending depositions

  • Experience working collaboratively across teams and offices

  • Prior experience representing public entities or land use matters is preferred
