About the RoleThe Senior Data Engineer plays an integral role in creating and maintaining Business Wire’s data pipelines, APIs, and services. As a member of our Engineering team, this role partners with other engineers, business analysts, and project managers to create applications for news processing, syndication, and metrics reporting systems.What You'll Do
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, infrastructure teams, and other stakeholders to develop data management strategy.
- Build and maintain data pipelines that clean, transform, and aggregate data from disparate sources.
- Build and maintain Tableau dashboards and custom reports.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including system design, APIs, usage guidelines, and best practices.
- Identify and address performance bottlenecks across the entire application.
- Identify architecture, design, and operational improvements to existing applications.
What You'll Need
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a computer-related field.
- At least 5 years of Data Engineering experience.
- At least 5 years of strong experience with Python, SQL, and data visualization/exploration tools.
- Experience with Snowflake, Tableau, and the AWS ecosystem.
- Experience with CI/CD and automation tools such as GitHub Actions, Code Pipeline, Jenkins or similar.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively with cross functional teams.
- Experience with Java EE and JavaScript is a plus.

What We OfferThe base salary range for this position is $150K to $165K/year. Offered salary will be determined by several factors, including but not limited to: applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with geographic market data. Business Wire reserves the right to modify this salary range at any time.
