Overview:\n

Turn ordinary into extraordinary-and terrfying! As a Fright Fest makeup artist, you will bring ghastly creatures, scare-actors, and haunting icons to life at Six Flag Darien Lakes spooktacular event. Working in a high-energy, fast paced enviroment you'll utilize special effects make-up, air brush techniques, foam latex and silicone prosthetics to transform performers for our haunted houses and scare zones.

\nResponsibilities:\n

• Create and design Fright Fest characters through make-up application.

\n

• Utilize prosthetics, traditional, Special FX, and air brush techniques to apply make-up to performers.

\n

• Create an average of 30 faces over a 2 hour timeframe nightly.

\n

• Create and apply unique character designs to performers/actors.

\n

• Apply touch-up make-up and effects, both in the field and dressing room throughout the night, for actors/performers.

\n

• Maintain highest standards of safety.

\n

• Be a reliable member of a team.

\n

• Maintain professional standards in accordance with all Six Flags policies and procedures.

\n

• Follow all opening and closing procedures and checklists.

\n

• Perform other duties as assigned.

\nQualifications:\n

Minimum Requirements · Must be at least 18 years of age.

\n

· Must be available for training and/or rehearsals prior to the beginning of Fright Fest.

\n

· Must be willing and able to work closely with other employees.

\n

· Must be comfortable working in dim lighting, confined spaces, and around large groups of people.

\n

· Will be required to work various shifts as project and park needs dictate, including nights, weekends and holidays.

\n

· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

\n

· Strong time management skills and motivated to thrive under pressure.

\n

· Must have the ability to stand, walk, crouch, bend, stoop, kneel and lift up to forty pounds occasionally.

\n

· Should be a self-starter and able to take direction.

\n

\n

Working Conditions

\n

· Work is performed primarily outdoors in all weather conditions. Lighting is both natural

\n

and artificial.

\n

· Equipment used includes radios, airbrushes, air compressor, other various makeup tools and products including latex, and cleaning tools.

\n

· Physical demands include standing, walking, lifting, carrying.

\n

· Days and hours will vary and will include weekends, evenings and holidays.

\n

· Position will require close contact with Park Guests.
