Job DescriptionOUR CORE PILLARS: Safety | Operational Excellence | Shareholder ValuePropulsion Controls Engineering has an opening for a Contracts Estimating Manager, with proven experience in ship repair/shipyard administration; familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures in estimating and contracts. PCE is a full service electro-mechanical repair and diesel repair contractor. PCE has garnered a wealth of extensive experience in successfully executing major system overhauls across numerous ports throughout the world on virtually every class of ship currently in operation.POSITION SUMMARY:The Contracts Estimating Manager, develops, maintains, and presents data and counsel necessary to assist Executive Management in monitoring the company’s strategic business plan, corporate goals, and objectives across the Enterprise. Provides managerial oversight of Contracts and Estimating, ensuring the timeliness and accuracy of proposal development, pricing, strategies, planning, and associated supply chain logistics. Acts as a primary negotiator, contracts specialist, and representative for company business relations.POSITION REQUIREMENTS:Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree required (Business Administration preferred).Certification as CFCM by NCMA preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Proven experience in ship repair/shipyard administration; familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures in estimating and contracts.Strong communication skills required to effectively interact with ship personnel, contractors, subcontractors, vendors, customers, and employees.Strong business acumen; capable of coaching and mentoring Business Office staff, maintaining open communication, and ensuring customer requests are fulfilled within required timeframes.Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
