We are looking for a skilled Legal Assistant to join a growing team in Sacramento, California. This permanent, in-office role supports a dynamic group of attorneys and plays a crucial part in our boutique labor and employment law firm, specializing in public sector labor law. Responsibilities:

• Prepare legal documents such as pleadings, discovery, correspondence, and memoranda with precision and attention to detail.

• Manage attorneys' time entries and expense reporting efficiently.

• Handle client intake processes, ensuring accurate and organized documentation.

• Oversee docketing and calendaring activities to maintain compliance with deadlines and court schedules.

• Maintain client files in the case management system, ensuring accessibility and accuracy.

• Conduct research to support case preparation and legal strategies.

• Perform electronic filing and submission of court documents at the state, federal, and appellate levels.

• Collaborate with administrative agencies and assist in criminal law-related tasks when required.

• Format, proofread, and edit documents for grammar, spelling, and proper structure.

• Provide additional legal support duties as needed to meet team objectives.

• Minimum of three years’ experience in litigation practice, labor and employment law, or court procedures.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other legal industry platforms.
• Familiarity with case management systems, billing software, and electronic filing tools.
• Strong knowledge of court rules and filing procedures for state, federal, and appellate courts.
• Exceptional attention to detail, grammar, and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with administrative agencies and criminal law is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to format documents properly and ensure accuracy in all work products.
