We’re seeking a skilled Internal Communications Writer to join a communications team with a children's hospital in the Houston area. In this role, you'll be responsible for managing content creation, researching and writing compelling internal stories, and ensuring timely distribution across company communications channels. This position offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with teams across the organization, bring employee stories to life, and help shape the internal narrative.
Key Responsibilities

Write and edit internal stories for company-wide distribution.

Manage content timelines and coordinate distribution through assigned communication channels.

Research story leads and topics through interviews, internal sources, and external research.

Attend company events to report on activities, capturing quotes, photos, and key moments.

Collaborate with photographers, writers, PR team members, and event managers for aligned coverage.

Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders to stay updated on initiatives and generate story ideas.

Secure supporting visuals, including photos and graphics, for internal publishing.

Ensure content accuracy, clarity, and engagement for internal audiences.

Support executive communications and work cross-functionally as needed.
Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Marketing, Human Resources, or Business.

Minimum 3 years of professional writing experience.

Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills tailored for internal corporate audiences.

Exceptional interpersonal skills with a customer service mindset.

Ability to conduct interviews, present ideas clearly, and collaborate in team settings.

Independent and proactive work style, comfortable in both solo and group environments.

Graphics or visual storytelling experience is a plus.

Familiarity with social media and digital content channels is preferred.
Work Environment

Hybrid work model with in-office presence required on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
