Finance Director – Reinsurance | NYC

We're partnering with a growing global specialty insurance organization on a high-visibility Finance Director hire in NYC.
\n
\n
The company operates a differentiated MGA/program insurance model, partnering with MGAs and program administrators on specialty insurance programs while providing the insurance infrastructure and capacity behind those programs. Reinsurance is a significant component of the business model.
\n
\n
This position will report directly to a highly respected CFO within the insurance sector and have significant exposure to the U.S. CEO, global leadership team, and broader business.
\n
\n
Key Selling Points:
\n
• Direct report to the CFO with significant executive visibility
\n
• Exposure to the U.S. CEO and global leadership team
\n
• Work across MGA/program business, reinsurance finance and FP&A
\n
• Evaluate new and existing programs across profitability, collateral, liquidity, reinsurance structures and financial risk
\n
• Help build out budgeting, forecasting, analytics and executive reporting capabilities
\n
• Broad position rather than a siloed accounting or reinsurance role
\n
• Opportunity to help build and improve processes as the organization grows
\n
• Potential for the scope to expand from the U.S. business into international responsibilities
\n
• Excellent opportunity for a Big 4 insurance Manager/Senior Manager looking to make a high-impact move into industry
\n
\n
Ideal Background:
\n
• Big 4 insurance audit Manager/Senior Manager OR insurance/reinsurance industry finance experience
\n
• P&C and/or Life Insurance exposure
\n
• Strong understanding of insurance/reinsurance finance
\n
• FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling and/or profitability analysis experience
\n
• Strong analytical and communication skills
\n
• Hands-on, proactive personality who can operate effectively in a fast-moving environment
\n
• CPA is a plus
\n
\n
Compensation: $160K–$175K base + bonus, with flexibility for the right candidate
\n
Location: Midtown NYC
\n
Schedule: Hybrid – moving to 3 days/week in office
\n
