Position Overview

Torque by Ryder is thrilled to announce that we are hiring a Permanent Full-Time Experienced Mobile Auto and Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet in Philadelphia, PA.

Your Role and Responsibilities

As a Diesel Technician, you will:

  • Interact with customers and manage accounts to facilitate preventative maintenance and repair issue resolution.
  • Coordinate work schedules and road test vehicles to ensure quality repairs and customer satisfaction.
  • Perform a variety of maintenance tasks, including:
    • Routine preventative maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work).
    • Advanced diagnostics and repairs on AC, electrical systems, and major engine repairs.
    • Inspect and maintain various vehicle systems, including brakes, cooling, and electrical systems.

What We’re Looking For

To thrive in this role, you should have:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent (vocational or technical certification preferred).
  • Basic tools and a demonstrated aptitude for mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines.
  • At least three years of relevant work experience (preferred).
  • A valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A (preferred).
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Working Conditions

This position involves driving Ryder vehicles, so you must:

  • Pass a Ryder Drug Test.
  • Pass a DOT physical.
  • Pass a Ryder road test.
  • Pass a background and motor vehicle check.
