Our client is seeking an experienced Federal Tax Manager to join its growing tax organization and play a key role in managing complex federal tax compliance, technical research, tax planning and strategic tax initiatives.

What You'll Do
\n
As the Federal Tax Manager, you will:
\n
- \n
- Manage and review the preparation of federal income tax returns, supporting schedules, tax workpapers and related documentation.
- Prepare and review monthly taxable income calculations, quarterly estimated tax payments and member tax distributions.
- Research and analyze complex federal income tax issues and develop well-supported technical conclusions.
- Monitor federal tax legislation, regulations, IRS guidance and other developments and assess their potential impact on the organization.
- Partner with senior tax leadership and external advisors on tax compliance, planning and technical matters.
- Serve as a key internal resource for federal income tax questions and communicate complex tax concepts to non-tax stakeholders.
- Manage federal tax audits, IRS correspondence and inquiries and coordinate responses with external advisors.
- Review tax provisions, calculations and other federal tax-related accounting matters, as applicable.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen tax processes, compliance, documentation and efficiency.
- Serve as a primary liaison with external tax service providers and advisors on federal tax matters.
- Provide tax-related analysis and insights to management and internal stakeholders.
- Provide technical guidance, training and mentoring to junior tax professionals.
- Help establish performance goals and support the professional development of tax staff.
- Participate in tax planning initiatives, special projects, acquisitions, organizational changes and other strategic tax matters.
- Collaborate with the State & Local Tax team to support an integrated overall tax function.

What We're Looking For
\n
- \n
- 8+ years of progressive tax experience, including significant public accounting experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
- Strong experience preparing and reviewing federal income tax returns and supporting schedules
- Advanced knowledge of federal income tax laws, regulations and reporting requirements
- Demonstrated ability to research, analyze and resolve complex tax issues
- Experience managing federal tax audits, IRS correspondence and relationships with external tax advisors
- Experience in a complex, multi-entity corporate environment preferred
- Strong understanding of tax compliance processes, deadlines and documentation
- Excellent analytical, research and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical tax matters for non-tax professionals
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated leadership, mentoring and collaboration skills
- CPA certification and/or Master of Taxation preferred
