We are seeking a Mechanical Designer to join our team for a significant engineering project. The role involves product documentation, CAD updates, bill of material management, and providing engineering support. This position is ideal for an experienced designer skilled in SolidWorks and comfortable with ERP systems to maintain accurate engineering documentation and manufacturing records. You will play a crucial role in managing an increased workload, ensuring production-ready documentation is completed efficiently and accurately.

Responsibilities

  • Create, revise, and maintain 3D models and detailed engineering drawings using SolidWorks.
  • Develop and update Bills of Material (BOMs) for manufacturing and production use.
  • Manage engineering documentation within ERP and document control systems.
  • Ensure drawings, models, and documentation comply with company standards.
  • Support engineering change requests and documentation updates.
  • Collaborate with engineers, manufacturing, and production personnel to ensure accurate product documentation.
  • Maintain drawing records, part numbering systems, and engineering databases.
  • Assist with design modifications, product updates, and project documentation as needed.
  • Help improve documentation processes, workflows, and standards.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency with SolidWorks for creating and modifying 3D models and engineering drawings.
  • Experience creating, updating, and maintaining Bills of Material (BOMs).
  • Experience working in an ERP/MRP system to manage engineering and manufacturing data.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, assemblies, and technical documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with engineering and manufacturing teams.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience supporting a manufacturing or industrial engineering environment, with strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.

Work Environment

This position is within a manufacturing facility specializing in agricultural equipment. Employees may experience varying degrees of heat, dust, and dirt, loud noise levels, and exposure to mechanical or electrical hazards.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Nevada, IA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
