About the role
\n
Howden Re is looking for a RFP Graphic Designer to join its growing Global RFP Function. This is an exciting new role and an opportunity to become a key design presence on the ground in North America, supporting regional RFPs, strategic proposals and supporting materials. Working closely with North American account teams, Senior Brokers and RFP Manager. You will deliver and manage design of client-facing proposals, pitches and presentations. Working within our brand guidelines to use design to strengthen our client story and differentiate Howden Re. You will also support quality control, consistent design standards and effective ways of working across the region.

As a new role, there is significant opportunity to influence how RFP design support develops in North America and contribute to the continued evolution of our global design approach, bringing regional insight, ideas and experience into the wider Global RFP Function.

Key responsibilities
\n
- \n
- Design delivery for North American RFPs, proposals and client presentations
- Work closely with Account Teams, RFP Managers, Content Manager and our broking community early in the process through to final amends.
- Support wider global and cross-regional RFPs where design expertise or delivery is required in peak seasons
- Develop presentations that strengthen narrative flow, simplify complex information and communicate key messages effectively
- Ensure all RFP and proposal outputs meet Howden Re brand, design and RFP standards
- Provide quality control across design outputs, ensuring consistency, accuracy and attention to detail
- Identify potential design risks, capacity constraints or delivery issues early and work with the RFP team to resolve them ahead of submission
- Provide guidance to RFP Managers, content colleagues and business teams on effective presentation structure, layout and visual communication
- Support and mentor other designers, sharing best practice and helping strengthen proposal design capability
- Promote effective use of agreed templates, tools and design processes while identifying opportunities to improve them
- Contribute regional insight and feedback to the development of global templates, design standards and ways of working
- Participate in lessons learned and continuous improvement activity to improve the quality, efficiency and impact of RFP design
- Work collaboratively across regions to share ideas, resources and best practice across the Global RFP Function

What we are looking for
\n
- \n
- 5+ years’ experience in graphic, presentation or proposal design, ideally within insurance, reinsurance, financial services, professional services or another complex corporate environment
- Advanced PowerPoint skills are essential, with the ability to create sophisticated, high-quality client presentations
- Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
- Proven experience designing proposals, pitches, presentations or other high-value client-facing materials
- Strong visual communication skills, with the ability to turn complex or technical information into clear and engaging layouts
- Excellent attention to detail and a strong understanding of typography, layout, hierarchy and presentation structure
- Ability to manage multiple projects and demanding deadlines while maintaining quality
- Confidence working directly with RFP professionals, technical specialists and senior stakeholders
- Experience reviewing the work of others and providing constructive design guidance or mentoring
- Experience working within brand guidelines while finding creative ways to strengthen client communications
- Experience within a deadline-driven RFP, pitch or business development environment would be advantageous
