SUMMARY:
The Material Service Shipper Receiver (MSSR) plays an important role in keeping production and warehouse operations running safely and efficiently. This position is responsible for the safe movement, storage, shipping, and receiving of materials, including transporting materials from Giebel Building Production to Building 1 for storage or additional processing. You’ll work closely with Production, Planning, Quality, and Management to maintain accurate inventory, support production schedules, and ensure materials are available when needed. The MSSR also supports department safety, quality, inventory accuracy, and continuous improvement initiatives.

HOURLY RATE & SCHEDULE: $1,000 Sign-On Bonus

Starting Pay: $24.68 per hour

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM, plus a 4-hour shift every third weekend.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Material Handling & Warehouse Operations
  • Safely receive, move, store, and ship raw materials, finished goods, and other materials.
  • Transport materials between Giebel Production and Building 1 for storage or additional processing.
  • Load and unload inbound and outbound trailers and customer orders.
  • Operate the shuttle truck to transport materials between locations.
  • Expedite materials as needed to support production schedules and prevent delays.
  • Properly store and organize raw materials, finished goods, and warehouse inventory.
  • Load scrap trailers, cardboard, and Poly bale trailers as required.
  • Prepare IPM shipments from Giebel as needed.
  • Inspect storage trailers, warehouse areas, racks, and industrial vehicle equipment to ensure safe conditions.

SHIPPING, RECIEVING & INVENTORY:

  • Verify incoming shipments for accurate descriptions, quantities, condition, and documentation.
  • Identify and report damaged materials, quantity discrepancies, and receiving issues.
  • Verify outbound shipment quantities against Bill of Lading (BOL) documentation.
  • Ensure accurate labeling of inbound and outbound materials.
  • Properly identify, segregate, and label non-conforming materials.
  • Ensure returned materials are properly dispositioned and accurately recorded.
  • Complete SAP inventory transactions and maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Print SAP inventory reports and perform cycle counts as required.
  • Participate in physical inventory counts.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy through proper material movement, storage, labeling, and documentation.

SAFETY:

  • Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), and company safety requirements.
  • Properly use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), industrial vehicles, and safety equipment.
  • Follow Sanford Plant Safety and Environmental standards.
  • Report safety incidents, spills, hazards, equipment concerns, and quality issues promptly.
  • Support safe and proper storage of materials, equipment, and inventory.
  • Maintain clear access to fire lanes, fire hoses, emergency equipment, and designated work areas.
  • Participate in corrective actions and help identify opportunities to improve safety and operational efficiency.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

TEAMWORK:

  • Work with Production, Planning, Quality, and Management to meet daily operational needs.
  • Prioritize daily workload based on production requirements, material needs, and business priorities.
  • Communicate material shortages, inventory discrepancies, quality concerns, and operational issues to the appropriate team members.
  • Work with the Department Manager to identify personnel, procedural, equipment, or process issues impacting the department.
  • Recommend and support solutions that improve safety, efficiency, quality, and throughput.
  • Complete weekly Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) activities.
  • Participate in ESP reviews and continuous improvement activities.
  • Follow work permit, lockout/tagout (LOTO), work order, accident, and spill reporting procedures as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Department Manager.

WHAT YOU BRING:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage daily workflow based on workload and production needs.
  • Ability to accurately label, load, unload, store, and move materials.
  • Basic computer skills, including the ability to learn and use SAP and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to learn and apply raw material and finished product specifications.
  • Ability to operate industrial vehicles and successfully complete Polyvantis’ required Industrial Vehicle Training and certification.
  • Ability to develop proficiency in the position and achieve approximately 90% competency within the first 12 months.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety, quality, accuracy, and teamwork.
