Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled Front End Mechanic to support the operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment used in the production of aluminum beverage cans. This role is responsible for ensuring front-end production equipment operates safely, efficiently, and within quality specifications while minimizing downtime.
The ideal candidate has strong mechanical troubleshooting skills, experience working with industrial equipment, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key ResponsibilitiesEquipment Maintenance & Repair
- Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair front-end production equipment
- Ensure proper operation of industrial machinery, including cuppers, body makers, trimmers, and coil handling equipment
- Perform equipment tear-downs, rebuilds, and reassembly while maintaining precise tolerances
- Diagnose mechanical issues and implement effective repair solutions
- Conduct preventive maintenance activities to maximize equipment reliability and performance
Precision & Quality Control
- Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators to verify equipment performance and product specifications
- Gather, fabricate, and assemble parts for repairs and modifications using technical drawings and blueprints
- Assist with machine adjustments and process improvements to maintain product quality
Machine Shop & Technical Support
- Operate machine shop equipment such as lathes, presses, grinders, and related tools when required
- Utilize hand and power tools safely and effectively
- Provide recommendations to management regarding equipment improvements and reliability initiatives
Safety & Compliance
- Conduct routine safety inspections of assigned equipment and work areas
- Follow company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Support a culture of safety and continuous improvement
QualificationsRequired Skills
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
- Experience using precision measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of industrial safety practices and procedures
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Vocational training, technical certification, or an associate degree in a related field preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a mechanical maintenance or industrial mechanic role
- Experience with high-speed manufacturing equipment is highly preferred
