Summary

The Manager Must be able to listen, follow & communicate clearly with Executive Management.

They should have the ability to consult and collaborate with other plants within the Topre organization. Must be result driven and self-motivated. Should be able to evaluate subordinates in leadership skills along with the training needed to progress the team. Will possess the ability to give solid direction to achieve company targets and goals.

Must be able to make presentations to Executive Level Management.

Should possess ability to recognize potential safety concerns, production performance issues & delivery concerns based on company targets and goals.

Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on Motors, Robots, Pneumatic Tools, Conveyor Systems, and Production Machines; following diagrams, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

· Must be able to listen & communicate instructions clearly.

· Exhibits a high degree of leadership and professionalism

· Vast understanding of Projection Welding and Mag Welding

· Must understand & have the ability to counter measure KPI targets, Kobetsu targets and meeting Kaizen / Gorika goals.

· Ability to manage all shifts, leaders & multiple situations at one time.

· Must be able to communicate with Executive management & HR management concerning associate concerns, team lead & supervisor concerns & potential problems in mfg.

· Ability to recognize training needs to advance the team.

· Manage shop floor activities

· Create yearly department budgets

· Evaluation of spare parts, create list for approval

· Oversee monthly fixed cost budget

· Address problems with long-term countermeasures

· Set department direction, countermeasure as needed

· Create procedures/edit procedures based on lessons learned

· Confirm countermeasure effectiveness of reoccurring downtime events

· Promote department participation in Kaizen activity

· Maintain building and grounds

· Makes appropriate recommendations for correction of hazards, procedural discrepancies, and deterioration of equipment.

· Schedules Maintenance activities, PM’s and work orders

· Quote and manage building expansion / modifications or equipment installation

· Consults with Operations (Manufacturing, Etc.) to determine their needs and coordinate Maintenance support.

· Plans the daily and weekly and long- term activities of all Maintenance department.

· Coordinates emergency repairs with other departments

· Schedules all equipment inspections by outside independent inspection agencies.

· Maintains all OSHA inspection reports/certificates and ensures that all items identified by inspections are corrected in a timely manner.

· Development of equipment specifications.

· Audits inventory of parts to ensure proper accountability and amount of spare parts on-hand.

· Audits PM program for updates and compliance.

· Exhibits a high degree of leadership and professionalism

· Performs with the objective in mind that they are responsible to keep the equipment operating in a safe and productive manner.

· Creates, modifies, analyzes, and distributes financial reports and cost & utilization reports to other departments using Microsoft Office and other software, as necessary.

· Creates, modifies, analyzes, and distributes preventive maintenance and utilization reports.

· Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and / or Experience

Degree in engineering, or related technical field preferred.

3 - 5 years of related work experience desired.

Prior supervisory experience

Electrical, hydraulics, and pneumatic knowledge is preferred.

Other Skills and Abilities

Basic fabrication skills utilizing welders, torch set, plasma cutter, and shear.

Experience with the following: Automated Conveyor Systems and Controls, Electrical and Electronic principles, Blueprint and Electrical Schematic reading, CMMS Programs, Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Predictive Maintenance (PDM) procedures, Industrial Electrical, Industrial Controls (PLCs), Industrial Electronics, N.E.C.

Addition, subtraction, division, and basic algebra.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. The ability to write routine reports and correspondence and have the ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Computer Skills

Extensive computer experience with database and inventory programs and an aptitude for computer programming desired. Planning and scheduling experience and job estimating, for both labor and material, necessary. Ability to deal effectively and professionally with the staff on all levels as well as customers and the general public required. Excellent oral and written communication skills required.

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud and may require additional PPE per Topre America’s PPE policy.
