Currently, we are offering a learning experience for three interns in the Public Affairs

\n

Department. Interns will assist the government affairs team at the Georgia Capitol during the 2027

\n

Legislative Session. Interns will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in state lobbying

\n

efforts and gain knowledge of key stakeholders and issues of importance in the state of Georgia.

\n

Position Title: Government Affairs Intern

\n

Positions Available: Three

\n

Position Dates: January 2027 through April 2027 (flexible on actual start and end dates)

\n

Hours: 20-24 hours per week

\n

Prerequisites: Senior level student or higher to include graduate studies; Must be available to work on Wednesday's

\n

Behavioral traits, attitudes, and skills required:

The ideal candidate will:

\n

• Have a proven track record of strong relationship building skills

\n

• Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills

\n

• Be able to identify and provide the appropriate level of information to stakeholders

\n

• Be able to organize large amounts of information, with high attention to detail

\n

• Be positive and responsive with a high level of professionalism

\n

• Trustworthy and respectful of Chamber mission

\n

• Interest in politics and the legislative process

\n


\n

The primary purpose of the internship is to assist the government affairs team in

\n

their state lobbying efforts at the Capitol during the 2027 Session of the Georgia

\n

General Assembly. Potential tasks associated with this include, but are not limited to:

\n


\n

• Attend committee hearings and take detailed notes on legislation that the Chamber is tracking

\n

• Coordinate and prepare handouts for Government Affairs Council meetings

\n

• Assist with creation and distribution of electronic and print information per the direction of the

\n

government affairs team

\n

• Credit hours upon agreement and documentation by sponsoring institution

\n

• A stipend of $12 per hour, maximum of 30 hours per week to allow interns to gain valuable

\n

experiential education without sacrificing needed income
