Senior Associate Wealth Management Advisor

PublishedPublished: 6/14/2022

Job Description

Job DescriptionJKS Financial is a comprehensive financial planning and wealth management practice, serving closely-held business owners, high-income professionals, and high-net-worth retirees throughout the Pittsburgh region. Our team of advisors and operations professionals is built around one standard: every client relationship gets the same disciplined planning process and the same level of attention, whether the client has been with us twenty years or twenty days.

We're hiring a Senior Associate Wealth Management Advisor to own the day-to-day relationship with an established book of clients — meeting with them regularly, reviewing and updating their financial plans, and keeping them on track toward their goals. You'll also partner directly with our Lead Advisors on new business: building the analysis and the plan that turns a prospect meeting into a client relationship. It's a role built for someone who wants full ownership of client outcomes without having to build a book from a cold start.

Client Relationship Management
• Serve as a primary point of contact for an assigned set of existing clients, in close partnership with their Lead Advisor
• Lead regular financial plan reviews — revisiting goals, updating assumptions, and adjusting recommendations as clients' lives change
• Manage client onboarding, account transfers, and 401(k) rollovers from start to finish
• Oversee investment portfolio management and trade execution for your client relationships
• Respond quickly and thoroughly to client questions, keeping the relationship warm between formal reviews
New Business & Planning Support
• Work alongside Lead Advisors to prepare the financial analysis and proposals that win new client relationships
• Build comprehensive financial plans — retirement, insurance, investment, and cash-flow strategy — that Lead Advisors present to prospects
• Prepare case materials and illustrations that make a complex recommendation easy for a client to say yes to
Practice Management
• Maintain accurate, complete client records in our CRM and planning software
• Help uphold the workflows, policies, and compliance standards that keep the practice running smoothly and audit-ready

Requirements:
• Series 7 & 66 (or Series 65) required
• Life, Accident & Health license preferred, or obtained within 60 days of start.
• Prior experience as an associate financial advisor or in wealth management operations preferred
• A genuine desire to own outcomes — self-directed, resourceful, and comfortable taking initiative within an established plan
• Strong financial analysis and critical-thinking skills, with the judgment to spot a problem and propose a solution
• Clear, persuasive written and verbal communication — you can explain a complex recommendation simply
• Comfortable juggling multiple client relationships and deadlines without losing precision
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly pick up CRM and financial planning software (we currently use Box.com and industry-standard planning tools)
• A team-first approach — you'll be in daily contact with Lead Advisors and operations staff

Compensation & Benefits
Base salary commensurate with experience and licensing, plus incentive compensation tied to client retention and new business contribution. We'll share our specific range in conversation.
• 401(k) with company match
• Employer-paid health insurance, plus dental, vision, and health savings account
• Short- and long-term disability insurance
• Term life insurance
• Paid time off and parental leave
• Professional development assistance and tuition reimbursement
• Flexible scheduling
