POSITION DETAILS

Department: Purchasing

Status: Full‑Time

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

FLSA: Non‑Exempt

Reports To: Purchasing Director



POSITION SUMMARY

The Data Analyst/Engineer is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and optimizing company data systems and operational platforms. This role ensures data accuracy, develops reporting tools, and builds policies and workflows that support logistics, duty‑free distribution, purchasing, and client service operations. The position ensures our platforms remain reliable, secure, and aligned with business requirements across warehouse, logistics, sales, and support functions.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Collect, validate, and analyze operational and logistics data to support business decisions

• Develop dashboards and reporting tools to monitor warehouse, distribution, and duty‑free performance

• Identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for process improvement

• Create automated reporting solutions for internal departments

• Monitor system performance, data flows, and platform availability

• Troubleshoot platform issues and coordinate resolutions with IT or external vendors

• Maintain and optimize data integration pipelines across logistics, inventory, sales, and support systems

• Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance across all platforms

• Develop, document, and implement platform policies, SOPs, and data management standards

• Establish system controls, access policies, and audit practices

• Collaborate with warehouse, logistics, sales, HR, and purchasing teams

• Provide technical and analytical support to operations, warehouse management, customer service, and distribution teams

• Assist leadership with data‑driven insights for decision‑making and strategic planning

• Support new system releases, platform upgrades, and user‑training initiatives

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or related field

• Experience in data analytics, system monitoring, or platform engineering (logistics/distribution preferred)

• Proficiency in SQL, Power BI, Excel, or similar analytical tools

• Understanding of data pipelines, APIs, and system integrations

• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to manage multiple priorities

• Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills


COMPUTER SKILLS

• Experience using handheld scanning devices (RF Smart)

• Proficient in MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint

• Experience with JD Edwards or other purchasing software


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Frequent standing, walking, sitting, reaching, and handling

• Frequent lifting of up to 10 lbs

• Occasional lifting of 11–20 lbs

• Minimal to no lifting above 21 lbs

• Occasional climbing, squatting, kneeling, and bending

• Close visual acuity required for data analysis, computer work, and reading

• Moderate noise environment typical of office settings

This position is designated as essential. During emergencies, employees in this role may be required to remain on‑site or report to work to support, protect, recover, and maintain critical company operations.
