Logistics Manager | Multi-Site Warehouse Operations

Black Diamond Coatings is looking for an experienced, hands-on Logistics Manager to lead daily warehouse and transportation operations across two locations.

\n


\n

This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for keeping freight costs under control, customer commitments on track, inventory accurate, and warehouse teams performing at a high level. You’ll lead a team of approximately 15–20 employees while partnering closely with plant and corporate operations.

\n

What You’ll Own

\n

Warehouse Operations

\n

    \n
  • Lead daily receiving, storage, picking, packing, labeling, and shipping across two warehouse locations.
  • \n

  • Maintain inventory accuracy through FIFO, replenishment, slotting, cycle counting, and disciplined warehouse processes.
  • \n

  • Develop and enforce SOPs that improve consistency, safety, accuracy, and productivity.
  • \n

  • Keep both facilities organized, OSHA-compliant, and audit-ready.
  • \n

  • Use WMS, TMS, ERP, and data analytics tools to monitor performance and improve processes.
  • \n

Transportation & Freight

\n

    \n
  • Schedule inbound and outbound trucks to maximize dock utilization and reduce detention.
  • \n

  • Source, negotiate, and book LTL, FTL, parcel, and other freight services.
  • \n

  • Manage relationships with carriers, brokers, and 3PL partners.
  • \n

  • Analyze freight spend, lane performance, and carrier scorecards to identify savings opportunities.
  • \n

  • Resolve transportation delays, damages, claims, and service issues.
  • \n

Team Leadership

\n

    \n
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of 15–20 warehouse associates, leads, and support staff.
  • \n

  • Partner with HR on recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and training.
  • \n

  • Set clear performance expectations and conduct regular coaching and performance reviews.
  • \n

  • Manage staffing schedules, overtime, and labor allocation based on workload and seasonality.
  • \n

  • Build a culture centered on accountability, safety, customer service, and continuous improvement.
  • \n

\n


\n

Financial & Continuous Improvement

\n

    \n
  • Manage warehouse and logistics expenses including labor, freight, supplies, and equipment.
  • \n

  • Identify opportunities to reduce freight costs, improve labor utilization, and eliminate waste.
  • \n

  • Partner with Sales, Customer Service, Purchasing, Finance, and Operations.
  • \n

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, 5S, or similar methodologies.
  • \n

What We’re Looking For

\n

Required

\n

    \n
  • 5+ years of progressive logistics, transportation, or warehouse management experience
  • \n

  • Multi-site warehouse or logistics responsibility
  • \n

  • 3+ years leading teams of 10+ employees
  • \n

  • Strong knowledge of LTL, FTL, parcel, freight negotiation, and carrier management
  • \n

  • Working knowledge of WMS, TMS, and ERP systems
  • \n

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Outlook
  • \n

  • Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • \n

  • Ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment
  • \n

  • Ability to travel regularly between warehouse locations
  • \n

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered
  • \n

Preferred

\n

    \n
  • Experience managing freight RFPs and carrier bids
  • \n

  • Experience supporting large retail or big-box customers such as Lowe’s, The Home Depot, Walmart, or Amazon
  • \n

  • Forklift certification or experience training forklift operators
  • \n

  • Familiarity with DOT and warehouse safety regulations
  • \n

  • Lean, Six Sigma, APICS, or similar certification
  • \n

  • Military veteran background
  • \n

Work Environment

\n

This is a hands-on warehouse leadership position. The role requires regular time on the warehouse floor, working around forklifts and material-handling equipment, walking for extended periods, and lifting approximately 25–50 pounds as needed. Required PPE must be worn in designated warehouse areas.
