Job DescriptionSmall Engine Repair Technician

We are looking for an experienced Small Engine Repair Technician to join our team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on mechanical work and has experience diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of outdoor power equipment and light agricultural equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair small gasoline engines and related mechanical systems.
  • Service and repair chainsaws, push mowers, riding mowers, zero-turn mowers, and other outdoor power equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and engine-related issues on light tractors and small agricultural equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance, tune-ups, oil changes, belt and blade replacement, and other preventative services.
  • Inspect equipment to identify problems and determine necessary repairs.
  • Test equipment after repairs to ensure it is operating safely and properly.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Communicate repair needs and equipment conditions clearly with customers and/or management.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts, and services performed.

Qualifications

  • Previous professional experience as a small engine or outdoor power equipment technician required.
  • Strong knowledge of small gasoline engines and mechanical systems.
  • Experience working on chainsaws, lawn mowers, zero-turn mowers, and similar equipment.
  • Experience with light tractors or agricultural equipment is preferred.
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems and determine the proper repair.
  • Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and shop equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple repair jobs.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Valid driver's license preferred.

We want a dependable, experienced mechanic who takes pride in their work, can diagnose problems efficiently, and is comfortable working on a variety of equipment. The right candidate should be able to handle everything from a chainsaw that won't start to a zero-turn mower or light tractor needing more involved mechanical repairs.
