Job Summary:

LHH is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Legal Assistant specializing in Bankruptcy to support our legal team. The ideal candidate will assist attorneys in preparing, filing, and managing bankruptcy cases (primarily Chapters 7, 11, and 13), ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and deadlines. This role requires strong organizational skills, legal knowledge, and the ability to communicate effectively with clients, courts, and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft, review, and file bankruptcy-related legal documents (e.g., petitions, schedules, motions, affidavits).

  • Maintain and organize case files and client records (both physical and electronic).

  • Conduct legal research and gather case-related information.

  • Coordinate and schedule court dates, hearings, and client meetings.

  • Communicate with clients, court personnel, and trustees regarding case status and documentation.

  • Monitor deadlines and ensure timely filings in compliance with court rules.

  • Assist attorneys in preparing for hearings and client consultations.

  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree or certification in Paralegal Studies or Legal Assisting (Bachelor’s preferred).

  • 2+ years of experience in a legal assistant or paralegal role, preferably in bankruptcy law.

  • Familiarity with federal and state bankruptcy procedures and e-filing systems (e.g., PACER, CM/ECF).

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management software.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Chapter 7, 11, and 13 bankruptcy filings.

  • Knowledge of Best Case, CINcompass, or similar bankruptcy software.

  • Bilingual abilities (if applicable to client base).



Pay Details: $55,000.00 to $70,000.00 per year
