Job Title: General Shop Manager

Location: Morrow, Georgia

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced General Shop Manager to oversee the daily operations of our high-volume automotive service center. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive retail and service environments, including experience with companies such as AutoZone, O’Reilly Auto Parts, Advance Auto Parts, Audi dealerships, or other large auto shops. This role requires exceptional customer service skills, proficiency in repair estimation, effective collaboration with mechanics, and the ability to manage billing processes efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Service Management:

    • Oversee front desk operations, ensuring high-quality customer interactions both in-person and over the phone.

    • Address customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints promptly to maintain high satisfaction levels.

  • Repair Estimates and Coordination:

    • Prepare accurate repair estimates, detailing parts and labor costs.

    • Collaborate closely with shop mechanics to diagnose vehicle issues and determine necessary repairs.

  • Fleet and Warranty Relations:

    • Work with fleet managers and warranty companies to provide estimates and manage billing processes.

    • Ensure compliance with warranty standards and procedures.

  • Billing and Financial Oversight:

    • Create, manage, and oversee the billing process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

    • Monitor financial performance and implement strategies to achieve financial targets.

  • Operational Efficiency:

    • Develop and implement standard operating procedures to enhance shop efficiency.

    • Maintain inventory levels, order parts as needed, and ensure proper storage and handling.

  • Team Leadership:

    • Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate shop staff, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.

    • Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, updates, and address any issues.

  • Compliance and Safety:

    • Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe and clean work environment.

    • Stay updated on industry developments and implement best practices within the shop.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in automotive service management or a related role.

  • Strong understanding of automotive repair processes and parts management.

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.

  • Ability to work under high-pressure situations and demonstrate effective problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency in using automotive management software and standard office applications.

  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

  • Leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.

Work Hours:

  • Monday through Friday: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

  • Saturday: 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM

Compensation:
