POSITION SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE: The IT Manager will lead the IT strategy and operations for the organization, overseeing
technology infrastructure and support systems across multiple programs. Leading a small team to ensure system
functionality, robust cybersecurity, and seamless technical operations, this position balances hands on technical
troubleshooting with tactical resource management.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Listed below are the essential functions of this position. Successful job applicants will be able to perform these essential functions with or without a requested reasonable accommodation.
· Serve as the senior administrator for core systems.
· Understand the requirements of the organization and work to ensure network software and equipment are up to date and secure.
· Oversee and determine time frames for IT projects including system updates, upgrades, migrations, and outages, including server and switching networks, video systems, access control security, email and end point protection, wireless networks and camera system.
· Lead the evaluation and implementation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools while ensuring all applications align with organizational ethics, data privacy standards, and evolving legal regulations.
· Maintain and troubleshoot office connectivity including firewalls, Wi-Fi access points and VPN’s for remote staff.
· Oversee and enforce organizational compliance with data protection mandates including HIPAA, FERPA and all privacy regulations– ensuring rigorous security controls, regular audits, and mitigation of data privacy risks.
· Provide direct supervision and management of the daily tasks and professional development of technical staff members.
· Assist in developing annual departmental budgets. Responsible for tracking and managing budget throughout the year.
· Manage equipment lifecycle and maintain accurate inventory records.
· Maintain department records, logs, and reports in appropriate documentation.
· Design, implement, review and test disaster recovery methods and procedures and business continuity planning.
· Coordinate employee cybersecurity and IT training.
· Ensure that new staff are provided with proper training at orientation as well as with on-going updates as needed.
· Collaborate, as needed, with external vendors on software, hardware, security needs and considerations.
· Assist in user onboardings, troubleshooting, and employee support.
· Other duties may be added and/or assigned as needed.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
· Minimum Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Business Administration or similar. Technical certifications a plus.
· At least five to eight (5-8) years of experience in Information Technology, 2+ years in a supervisory role.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Strong analytic and problem-solving skills, time management and attention to detail.
· Deep understanding of networking, computer repair and virtual technologies.
· Strong hardware & software troubleshooting skills.
· Ability to lead, manage, mentor, and evaluate a small technical team.
· Knowledge of Windows server technologies including Active Directory, Exchange, DHCP, DNS
· Understanding of routers, switches, firewalls, wireless, LAN/WAN, VPN and other edge security devices.
· Ability to manage Office 365 environment, SharePoint, Azure, etc.
· Competent with software technologies and virus protection software systems.
SCHEDULE: Weekdays. Full-time 40 hours per week. 8-hour shift start times can be flexible, based on the needs of the organization. On call responsibilities may be required at the discretion of the supervisor.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Typical office and active campus settings(s) with a combination of physical and desk work. All workdays are required to be onsite to support the needs of the campus, this is not a remote position. Position will require extended exposure to cool temperatures associated with network server rooms and closets. The job expectations include the ability to transition from building to building (exposed to the elements of the weather).
