Job Details:
\n
• Minimum 2 years of experience required; first-time travelers accepted
\n • Patient population: Adults to Geriatrics
\n • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS
\n • Patient ratio of 1:2 with a free charge nurse; 10-bed unit with an average daily census of 7
\n • Care for cardiovascular ICU patients including those with LVADs, balloon pumps, swan catheters, temporary pacemakers, femoral and venous sheaths, arterial lines, TR bands, and patients on CRRT
\n • Titrate cardiac drips, vasoactive medications, and sedation for intubated patients
\n • Monitor post-procedural AAA repair patients requiring flat positioning for specified hours
\n • Effective communication with nurses, physicians, and care team is essential
\n • Intensivist present in the unit Monday through Friday with multidisciplinary rounds at 10:00 AM daily
\n • Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR unit systems utilized
\n • Scrub color: Navy Blue
\n • Every other weekend required
\n • Maximum of 7 days of requested time off per contract; all RTO must be finalized at time of submission
\n • RTO blackout dates: Spring Break (April 4th–12th)
\n • No on-call requirements
\n • Holiday coverage expected based on number of major holidays falling within assignment period
\n • Floating within facility and scope of practice as needed
\n • 24 orientation hours required
\n • Preferred experience: Charge nurse, Epic charting, community hospital, LTAC, Trauma Level I and II
\n • Key skills include arterial line management, CVVHD/CRRT, IABP, LVAD/RVAD, pulmonary artery/Swan-Ganz monitoring, ventilator management, and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips

This facility is a well-established health system featuring a specialized cardiovascular intensive care unit with a dedicated interdisciplinary care team. The unit is supported by IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation. The facility provides comprehensive cardiovascular care for a wide range of complex diagnoses including cardiogenic shock, aortic dissection, STEMI/NSTEMI, decompensated heart failure, and abdominal aortic aneurysm, among others.
