CNC Turning Programmer-Operator (Lathe)

Step onto our 2nd shift team and run advanced CNC lathes that turn drawings into real, high‑tolerance components. You’ll set up, program, and operate turning centers, troubleshoot issues on the fly, and keep quality front and center in a fast-paced, ISO‑9001 environment.
A day in the life
- Set up and operate assigned CNC lathes, dialing in offsets and tooling for first‑article and production runs.
- Maintain the tooling inventory at your machine so every run starts smoothly.
- Machine parts precisely to drawing, holding required tolerances.
- Mark material for deposition and maintain correct identification at every step.
- Own in‑process and final inspections—complete quality checks on all machined parts.
- Deburr and remove sharp edges to specification.
- Assist with machine maintenance when directed by your Supervisor.
- Help train new operators as needed and share best practices.
- Participate in ISO‑9001 continuous improvement training and activities.
- Handle materials when a designated move person isn’t available.
- Keep the machine area clean, orderly, and safe.
- Accurately complete inspection logs, travelers, and time slips.
- Join team updates to stay aligned on goals and priorities.
- Upload and download from the machine control; transfer programs as required.
- Participate in broader business updates to understand company direction.
- Take on other duties as assigned by the Supervisor to support production.

- Assist with training new operators.
- Support shipping, receiving, and moving of material when needed.
What you bring
- High School diploma/GED.
- 2+ years of CNC lathe machining experience preferred.
- Ability to read and use micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring devices; CMM experience is a plus.
- Solid math skills: add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Physical demands
This role frequently requires walking and standing. You will occasionally reach above shoulder height and lift up to 40 pounds.
Schedule
Full‑Time, 2nd Shift — 40 hours (Monday–Thursday), with overtime as needed.
