Examples of Job Duties: What does a day in the life of a hospice caregiver look like? Providing comfort and presence.
- Offer companionship and emotional support to clients and their families
- Provide comfort-focused personal care, including bathing, grooming, repositioning, and mobility assistance
- Assist with meal preparation and ensure safe, peaceful surroundings
- Monitor and report changes in client comfort, condition, or needs to the care team
- Maintain a calm, patient presence and help support the client’s preferred routines
- Engage clients in gentle, meaningful activities when appropriate
- Support families by offering reassurance, updates, and compassionate communication

- You are deeply compassionate and patient, especially in emotionally sensitive situations
- You are comfortable providing personal care and emotional support
- You communicate warmly and respectfully with clients, families, and care teams
- You are committed to helping others experience comfort and dignity
- Experience in hospice, palliative care, or caregiving is a plus but not required — training is provided
